½ CUP SUGAR
3 EGGS
4 TABLESPOON MELTED BUTTER
1 TEASPOON VANILLA
1/8 TEASPOON SALT
1 CUP LIGHT CORN KARO SYRUP
1 CUP PECAN MEATS
1 (8 INCH UNBAKED PIE SHELL)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Beat eggs and sugar well in bowl. Add all other ingredients except pecans. Spread pecans on bottom of unbaked pie shell. (DO NOT USE A DEEP DISH PIE PLATE.) Pour mixture over pecans. Bake at 350 degree oven for 50 – 55 minutes. Pecans will rise to the top.

This is an official pecan pie recipe from the State of Georgia, famous for their pecans. I like to use a homemade pie crust recipe. This recipe has half of the “normal” amount of sugar normally in a pecan pie. I also use Madagascar vanilla, it really makes a difference in the taste of the pie.
